This beach is quite unknown to tourists and even to the inhabitants of the island of Cephalonia, because it doesn't have an easy access.
In fact, Lithero & Kanali is in the Lourdas Bay, between the beach with the same name and the one of
Trapezaki.
You can join it from both sides walking for a quarter of an hour on the sand or by a small hidden way, from the
village of Lourdas, and finishing at a small creek, called, yes, Lithero, where two or three fishing boats float.
Attention, parking your car is difficult. You could also go on foot from the village.
The fourth possibility, the best in a picturesque way but the hardest as well, is to walk on a footpath which departs from the ancient venetian way, joining
Trapezaki area to
Lourdas.
You need some searching to find the footpath, but if you turn your back to Cristal Palace restaurant you will shortly find fastly this charming itinerary.
Be careful, the footpath is a small stream too in winter and in spring : stones are slippery and it is not at all recommended to people with kinetic problems and it's necessary to wear trainers and not simple sandals.
Across the mediterranean copse, you will see a private chapel, and then going down among the terraces full of fruit trees, maybe you'll catch sight of a buzzard flying high over your heads.
Finally you will join this fine sandy beach called Kanali with its chaotic rocks and its blue cristal clear water.
